How do i connect my wii to the internet using a LAN adapter and still be able to browse the internet?

I have tried hooking up the usb to the wii and to my internet modem but then i only get internet through my wii… I am not able buy prescription drugs online to search the internet on computer… Do I need an additional USB cord to connect?
